Falling.
Deeper.
Dark water,
lightless.
Hollow sleep
offering nothing.
Then… warmth.
Tide shifting.
Water warming
against my cheek,
down my neck,
rising.
Waves lapping higher…
across chest,
through hair,
climbing.
Then enveloping.
Tide fully in.
Warmth spreading
from where we meet,
flooding
my whole length.
Rhythm.
Undulation.
In and out.
Rise and fall.
Then I see…
above me…
blue.
Her eyes.
Ocean surface
looking down
as I drown.
Electric.
Pulling.
Consuming.
I surrender
to the tide,
to her rhythm,
to drowning
in that blue.
No resistance.
Only depth.
Only her.

Beautiful!
Wow. I almost drowned when I was 9 years old. It wasn't anything like this. Have you had a near death experience?
