I’ve seen darkness more than most,
Fed oblivion till it burst,
Tomorrow is a new day.
I touch the void where I once lost,
Seen them too, those souls rehearsed,
I’ve seen darkness more than most.
Don’t stay sad, don’t you cry,
Let the pain slip quietly away,
Tomorrow is a new day.
Years gone by, yet here I stand,
A new sun rising on the grey,
I’ve seen darkness more than most.
Forwards, driven, take my hand,
Momentum carrying us away,
Tomorrow is a new day.
I’ve seen darkness more than most,
Yet standing in the Sun, I say:
Tomorrow is a new day.

This poem doesn’t deny darkness.. it honors it..
What moves me is not the pain itself, but the quiet authority of survival: “Years gone by, yet here I stand.” .. Beautiful..
An attempt at a Villanelle
One of my favourite forms of writing
constrictive, but so good.
If you follow me, you will be subjected to Villanelle's...
Don't say I didn't warn you.
